DataI'm often asked what is the difference between managed and un managed AT&T internet service
"Managed" means that AT&T provides, maintains and monitors a Cisco router and 24/7 proactive monitoring of the circuit. AT&T maintains ownership and responsibility for the router. If it fails, AT&T fixes or replaces. If you want a set it and forget it solution Managed is the way to go.
"Un Managed" means that you provide your own router. AT&T still monitors the circuit they just don't have access to your router. If your router fails, you are responsible to repair or replace. If you want more control of router function and programming and are willing to purchase your own router Un Managed is the way to go.
